UPDATE September 17, 2018: What a long strange trip it's been! Mango has long recovered from her pneumonia. She gave birth to six beautiful puppies at the end of July and she's scheduled to be spayed on October 1. After a week's time to recover, she should be feeling well enough to start life anew in a forever home.

Mango truly hasn't had an easy time of it. Although she's been in rescue since the beginning of July, she has not had the opportunity to be a real pet. 99% of our foster homes have other dogs, so from the get-go, she needed to be kept sequestered due to her pneumonia. The quarantine was over for only a few days before she had the puppies and ended up back in relative seclusion. Therefore, Mango will need patience help while acclimating to the life of beloved pet. She still needs work on housetraining. She's not fond of seclusion, so her forever home will need to be one where dogs are allowed in the bedroom. She truly loves people and wants to be with them as much as possible.

ORIGINAL POST: Mango entered rescue as part of a deceased hunter's pack. She was brought to us as one of four dogs, two of whom ended up at the Emergency Vet within 24 hours with pneumonia. She was released after four days ($$$$!) and is still quite sick and will need a few weeks to recover.

Mango has a gentle nature and is quite people bonded. She likes nothing more than physical contact... petting, rubbing, patting... Because of her recent ordeal, it will be some time before she is ready to interview for prospective handmaids and man servants. She won't be available for adoption until October 2018.
