Shelby (we’ve been calling her Nellie) is the sweetest little beagle girl. She is, however, very nervous and afraid and will need a patient adopter who will work with her on figuring out all the new scary things around her, especially all the strange noises. She is doing great with our resident dog and will do best in a home with a calm, confident resident dog. So far, she has done great in her crate at night and during the day when we are out of the house. No accidents inside the house so far! Once Nellie feels comfortable with you, she does not want to leave your side. If you work from home or are retired, she would be a perfect companion to you and your resident dog. Her favorite things seem to be snuggling up on the couch and exploring and sniffing every inch of a fully fenced yard. After just a day in her foster home, her confidence has grown and she seems more comfortable inside our home. She still has a long way to go to be the confident dog she is meant to be, but she will melt your heart as she works to show you how grateful she is for giving her her forever home.
