Name:   Razzle Hughes

Description:   ~ 1-2 yrs old ~ 33 lb ~ Fostered in Silver Spring, MD ~

Handsome Razzle was adopted from the shelter and 6 months later was taken back to the shelter because his family was moving to the Mythical Land of No Dogs. Uh huh.

We don't know the real reason for his return, but it's their loss. In the words of his foster dad, "Razzle is a great dog!" He elaborates that Razzle gets along well with other dogs. He and his foster brother hit it off from the get go. They are both young and tend to play rough, but there is no aggression in him whatsoever--not in playing, not with food, not with toys. And speaking of toys, he LOVES them. He is obsessed with the dog toy box. Interestingly (at least so far) he only seems to be interested in the toys. The youngsters in the home tend to leave their belongings all over the place, but Razzle wisely leaves the human toys alone.

He does very well in the crate and has chosen to sleep there. When the humans go out, he stays in the crate without making a fuss.

He gets worked up in the yard at the sight of squirrels (and the neighborhood cat), so for now we'll exercise caution and say a home without cats would be best. Razzle (like most of the dogs we acquire from rural shelters) is clueless at walking on lead, so will require some training in that area. Unlike most shelter dogs we acquire, he does not snarf down his food at lightening speed. Yes, you read that right. And so far he hasn't been caught counter surfing. That's not to say that if you were carrying a piece of bacon at waist level that he wouldn't snag it for himself, but what self respecting beagle wouldn't? All in all, Razzle is an all around great dog.
