Just like humans, some dogs are more photogenic than others and we were hard pressed to take a bad photo of this beautiful boy! He is the canine equivalent of George Clooney (That's Tom Holland for you younger folks).

Matteo is a bit scared right now, but we think that with a little time and pampering, he'll quickly come around. He is gentle and very sweet and we think he'd make a good addition to almost any home, but if you have another friendly dog for him to pal around with, so much the better. We'd really like his happily-ever-after to get started as soon as possible.

Matteo is heartworm positive and is currently being treated.

Success Story:   Note from his new family:

Matteo has been with us for the past couple of months and has settled in nicely. He was very timid at first but his big brother Fred, who is also a rescue from Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland, helped him settle in and Matteo is doing great. We love Mateo and he's a great addition to our family. He has been easy to train and is very loving and affectionate. He doesn't care for car rides and is a homebody. He loves to snuggle and is a little naughty by stealing his brother's treats. He was heartworm positive when he came to us but he did very well with his treatment and now that's all behind him. We hope to give Matteo a long and happy life with us.
