Name:   Graham Granville (now Piccolo)

Description:   ~ 6-9 yrs old ~ 22 lb ~ fostered in Westminster, MD ~

Graham came in with some skin issues, but his hair has grown back nicely and he's a small but handsome fella. Life can be so hard out on the streets.

Graham might be ok as an only dog, but definitely better with at least one another dog. He loves to be near our dog Gracie, especially. He's good with leash walking as we've been using the leash to walk him in the backyard. With all the ice and snow we got, there are spots in our fence we need to reinforce. He's crate trained but gets cranky if he's in it during the day and knows you're home. He sleeps in it overnight with no issue. He's mostly house-trained but you should believe him when he tells you he needs to go outside. He's sometimes okay with the cats but other times gets too excited when he sees them. Overall, he's very sweet and cute. The shelter thought he was 9 yrs old, but he looked so bad because of the mange. His fosters think he's really 5 or 6.

Success Story:   A note from Piccolo's family:

He is happy with his walks in one of the many Columbia, MD, paths, see picture. In addition he also walks well in the sidewalk in a calm street nearby our house. He is learning fast how to understand the leash guidance to avoid going to the street and peoples driveway. A quick learner.

Of course he knows the feed times and where the treats are stored, but it is still learning not to ask too hard for the treats, but once he understands that no additional treats are coming at the moment, he sits or lays down by my side. He does not disturb us when he sees us sitting to eat at the table. He learns fast and feels when I do not like what he is or is intending to do, with me looking at him and shaking my head. Of course, he understands my different whistles, to come and wait, or to come fast.

Learned to jump in couch or lay dawn in a dog round bed very quick, no teaching needed. I also attached a picture in couch and the dog round beg.
