Name:   Jasmine Hughes

Description:   ~ 2 yrs old ~ 19 lb ~ fostered in Linthicum Heights, MD ~

Meet Jasmine, a 1 1/2 to 2 year old beagle girl weighing in close to 20 lbs! Jaz as we like to call her, still needs to put on a little more weight, but one thing we know for sure is she loves food! She's super sweet and cutie pie!

Jaz will need time to trust her humans. She came to us a very terrified pup. We don't know her circumstances, but we were told she was really scared. BRSM just had to grab this sweet girl. In just a few short weeks with us in foster, she is feeling more comfortable with us. She loves our family of furbabies: two beagles and two cats. In fact, they were a big help in making her feel at home. She was afraid to even go outside and with our beagle's help, she now loves going out and running around. As a young dog, she has some energy to burn.

Some things we have learned: she is very food motivated. She still has some young pup tendencies such as basic manners, chewing on things she shouldn't be chewing, and basic potty training. She loves snuggling with the animals. She seems to trust them more, but she's now starting to snuggle with us a bit too!

For us, the number one thing was gaining her trust and that trumped the other training. She is learning that affection is a good thing and she's actually a great kisser if you like that sort of thing!

Do you want to rescue and give a sweet girl a chance at a forever home? Do you think you have the patience for a young nervous dog who will fill you and your home with joy, Jasmine is your girl! If you have other pets, perfect! Jaz does get a little nervous with loud, quick movements so perhaps young children aren't the best fit.

Success Story:   From Jasmine's family...

This is her nighttime bed. I used to have to catch her and carry her in. Now she comes to bed on her own, just follows us in there.

She doesn’t like the harness and would run and hide when she saw me with it. She’s at the point now where she lets me put it on with little to no fuss. Here she’s sitting pretty about to go outside.
