Success Story:   On December 8th I picked this sweet little girl up from the team working with BRSM. I immediately fell in love with her! She was small, and had recently had puppies and had been spayed. My plan was to foster her for six weeks and adopt her if all went well. My hesitation to adopt her was because I was afraid she was an escape artist and would keep running away. I wanted to be sure I could keep her safely in my home and yard. My backyard is large and it is all fenced in.

The day before the official adoption day, she was able to escape because one of the pickets of the fence had fallen over on the ground and provided a space big enough for her to fit through. I had purchased a gps tracker for her and it was attached to her collar. I was able to see via an app on my phone where she was. She did not get far in my neighborhood and I was able to catch her within ten minutes. She came to me when I called her. I spent the next hour making sure every picket on the fence was secure. She is microchipped, wears an embroidered collar with her name and phone number on it that includes a gps device that never comes off.

On January 20, Inauguration Day, Mrs. Beasley of Annapolis was officially adopted in a small ceremony at home. She wore a lovely crown of flowers with ribbons for the occasion but they didn’t stay on her head. Within minutes she was wearing them like a scarf!

Mrs. Beasley has become friends with our two resident cats, Annabelle and Duchess. She is a very busy girl and enjoys toys, running around in her yard to chase squirrels, and eating Milkbones that her daddy gives her. I don’t know what she went through before I met her, but now she is safe, has a furever home, and is loved by all of us.
