Name:   Plymouth

Description:   This is a Courtesy Post. This is not a BRSM dog, but he is looking for a forever home and is being fostered at one of our partners - Healthy Hound Playground in Sterling, VA

Plymouth started fostering with us in early January of 2020. He is a neutered foxhound who is 5 ½ years old and weighs in at about 60 pounds. He was named after Plymouth Massachusetts!

Like most foxhounds, Plymouth can be a high energy pup who loves to play. He can be found spending his days throwing around and chewing on his toys or playing a fun game with some human friends! At times he can be nervous or hesitant about new things, but he can quickly settle in and adapt to a new environment. Plymouth does very well in doggy daycare and will get some playtime with other pups between taking long naps throughout the day.

Plymouth is very sweet and loves to get as much petting time as he possibly can. At times he can be a bit stubborn if you want him to do something he does not want to do, but he is a very smart pup and he can learn quickly with someone who would be willing to work with him when he gets that way.

It should come as no surprise, but as a hound Plymouth loves to be outside. He is always smelling around and looking to explore whenever he is out on his walks. He would make a fantastic partner for someone who loves to go on hikes or for a nice run.

Plymouth seems to be fully potty trained as he has not had any accidents in his kennel since he has been with us. Being on a regular feeding and bathroom schedule works really well for him. We think he would do really well either as an only dog or with other medium to large sized dogs. We do not believe Plymouth would do well in a house with young children. Ideally he would be in a home with an experienced dog owner who understands how to set boundaries for their pup and can help him work on his obedience commands (sit, down, stay, etc.).
