Name:   Nemo Columbia (now Guy)

Description:   ~ 6 yrs ~ 21 lbs ~

Nemo arrived in the early hours of the morning on a transport from South Carolina - a notoriously bad place to be a beagle. He was well behaved on his overnight stay before being taken to the vet. Nemo is a very sweet boy who is just trying to wrap his head around all the recent changes in his life. We suspect that life hasn't been a bed of roses and he's probably expecting more of the same. When taken outside for his photo shoot he wanted to look anywhere but the camera - and he hung his head as though expecting a beating at any moment. Of course, his demeanor could also be attributed to pain - his mouth is in sore need of a dental.

We expect that a comfortable bed, good food, kind hands and a loving voice will go a long way to improving Nemo's outlook on life.

Typical of his birthplace, no veterinary care has been extended to this boy. He is heartworm positive and will need a couple of months for treatment.
His foster mom sent a little note about him. "I was working on the computer and started to hear this strange noise. I looked up and Nemo was snoring and sleeping on a pile of dirty clothes. Later, he saw the cat, smelled the cat and walked away. A good sign.

Success Story:   Guy finally tested negative for heartworm and has become officially ours! As a retired couple, we are thrilled to have added him to our three cat family where he's become the "sidekick" my husband needed, both inside the house and working on projects outside. And thank you Patti from BRSM for your diligence in finding every possible escape route out of what we thought was a securely fenced yard. Now our Guy thoroughly sniffs everywhere in it each day, then comes inside to be our big cuddly boy. He loves to take his naps pressed against my husband, snoring away. Of course he snuggles in bed with us at night. Meanwhile life has become much more interesting for the cats, each one having a unique way of greeting him as they pass by, Guy respectfully dipping his head and looking away. He is our joy!
