Name:   Etienne (Eddie)

Description:   ~ 12 yrs old ~ 23 lbs ~ fostered in Baltimore, MD ~

Eddy was found as stray after being adopted from BRSM years ago. So he is back with us and being fostered. He has been with us for about two months and has fit right in! He is an easy going senior dog with lots of pep and lots of love to share. He gets along well with his foster brother and sister although he would like to be top dog. He seems uninterested in our cats and they are peacefully co-existing. I think he would also be fine as an only dog as he is very focused on "his" people. He wears himself out following me around the house as he just wants to be in what ever room we are. He has been exposed to small children in short doses (on walks around the neighborhood) and seems fine - but hasn't had any prolonged time with them. He loves to go for walks and is good on a leash but he is also good with just a quick trip to the back yard to do his business and then straight back inside to grab the best seat on the sofa. He is completely housebroken and has no bad habits except that he barks when he is excited - Walk Time! Dinner Time! You're home!

Success Story:   We received this note from Eddie's family in Jan, 2012: Our family adopted Eddie in the summer of 2007(?) after he was in foster care for quite awhile. He was our first pure bred and male dog and didn't exactly blend right in, he didn't seem to know how to act with unknown brothers and sisters (doggie and human). He had food aggression and startled easily; I don't believe his early life was pleasant. But we hung in there with him and he eventually grew accustomed to his new home. One of his favorite calming activities was to climb in bed with my husband when he got home from the night shift. My husband would 'tell him a story' as he put it, and Eddie would lay down by his side and go to sleep.

Eddie became the best companion dog ever. He is the sweetest boy who adores us all, but he's especially my dog. I go nowhere in the house without him following and at night he sleeps with one leg over me. He especially loves his family trips to the beach - oh, the new smells to be smelled! He travels with his sisters shown in the picture. The dog on the left is a fellow BRSM alumni, Ruby, adopted two years ago.

Eddie sends his love and eternal gratitude to Sherrie, who he thinks is the best foster mom in the world. Eddie is healthy and happy, and we love him dearly.
