Name:   Margaret Henderson (now Ellie)

Description:   ~ 4-5 yrs old ~ 22 lbs ~ Fostered in Hanover, MD ~

Margie has just arrived in rescue, but let us just throw some first impressions out there... Margie was in transport from Kentucky for over 16 hours. That's 16 hours in a crate surrounded by lots of restless barking and no potty breaks. Upon release she had no interest in relieving herself. She put her paws on our rescuers legs and wanted a cuddle. He walked her around for a few moments in case she was having second thoughts, but no... she just wanted attention. She rode silently in the car for another hour and a half and then sat on the volunteer's lap in the vet's office just soaking up the hugs, kisses and ear rubs. When the vet tech came out to lead her to the back, she ran back to the volunteer for a last cuddle. How can you not love a dog like that? We're sure there's more to her than just affectionate, but it's not a bad place to start.

Unfortunately, Margie tested positive for heartworm disease. She won't be available for adoption for a few months, but stay tuned. In the meantime, Margie is going to try to get used to living in a home where her foster family loves her and will make her comfort and well being a priority. Her life has just taken a dramatic turn for the better!
