Name:   Quincy Jones (now Jasper)

Description:   ~ 1 yr old ~ 28 lb ~ Fostered in Glen Burnie, MD ~

To say this handsome bluetick boy is striking is an understatement. He is eyes are just gorgeous and he is beautifully marked. Looking at him you can see how his apartment dwelling former owners were sucked into adopting him. Unfortunately, with both working full time, this puppy quickly grew tired of being stuck in a crate and lonely all day and began to vocalize - much to the displeasure of the other residents. The landlord put his foot down and Quincy was taken to the shelter.

At only around a year old, Quincy has the energy one would expect in a young hound. He would benefit greatly from training. He pulls on lead and is quite strong. Placing him in a home with another bouncy dog and a securely fenced yard would be an optimum situation for this guy. Having humans home more often than not would be icing on the cake. Quincy was pretty traumatized by his earlier experience and it will take some work to get through his separation anxiety. He's a love though, affectionate and playful. Active children who are willing to throw a ball and play chase would be FABULOUS! Young and enthusiastic as he is, you can imagine how boring it is for him in his crate at the vet's office, so the sooner he lands in a foster home or better yet, his permanent home, the better. Success Story:   From the day we brought Jasper home we knew that we would not be "fostering" him for long, but keeping him forever. We never expected to fall in love so quickly. He loves everyone and everyone loves him.

We lost our 14 yr old Beagle, Sarge, last summer and our other dog, Boh, a 4yr old Blue Tick Coonhound, has been sad and feeling alone ever since... but the day Jasper got here - the entire house and everyone in it brightened up. Boh has adopted Jasper as his little brother and new shadow; they are inseparable. On night three, Jasper no longer slept in a crate because he followed Boh into our bedroom and into our bed and has been there every night since; and yes it is crowded but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Jasper's favorites are car rides, cuddling close, long walks, playing with ice cubes in his kiddie pool, chasing a ball and going to the dog park (which is completely fenced in) where he can run free and wrestle with his best friend, Ralphie (my son's 3yr old Pitbull that was rescued from a local kill shelter.) In case you were wondering... Jasper always gets the best of poor Ralphie.

My family and I are so thankful we found Jasper - that we just can't imagine life without him.
