Name:   Bugsy George

Description:   ~ 7 yrs old ~ 30 lbs ~ NOW ADOPTED ~

Bugsy was pulled from a Maryland shelter when his "stray time" was up. When he arrived in rescue, he weighed only 19 pounds and had terrible ear infections. He's up to almost 30 pounds now and his tail is wagging and he's having fun playing with his foster sisters. Bugsy is an incredibly sweet boy, with a cheerful, friendly disposition. He shows no aggression toward people or other dogs (that includes no food aggression at all). He's gentle and playful, yet mellow. He has a lovely bay that he uses when he has to go outside (that's a good thing!) and when he's excited about getting treats, but otherwise he's a quiet fella.

He is crate-trained and walks well on a leash. He has been neutered and vaccinated, has had his teeth cleaned and ear infections treated. Although he did have Lyme disease and Ehrlichia (another tick born illness) when in the shelter, but he has completed a course of antibiotics to treat these and follow-up blood tests will confirm that he is a health beagle boy before he is adopted. Unfortunately, his ear infections have rendered Bugsy hard of hearing, but he will receive more tests to determine the permanency of his hearing loss - his hearing may return to normal as his ears recover from the terrible infections he suffered. Bugsy is looking for a forever home where he'll get lots of TLC. He loves the companionship of other dogs, especially other beagles, so it might be nice for him to join a pack. Bugsy is a typical beagle and needs to be walked on-leash or kept in a fenced area when off-leash, as his nose and curiosity will cause him to wander.

This sweet, gentle boy will make a great addition to your family.
