Name:   Odie Howard

Description:   ~ 5 yrs old ~ NOW ADOPTED ~

Odie is a good boy, about 5 years old, who lost his home when his family "had to move and couldn’t take him with them." They left him at a shelter, but he was so sad that he didn’t feel much like eating, wagging his tail, or greeting people. One volunteer said that she would like to be his foster mom, because he might feel more secure and less sad if he were in a home. She was right. At his foster home, his personality is blossoming. He is affectionate and loves to snuggle on the couch. Odie is smart and likes taking walks and playing fetch with his stuffed toys. He is now eating well and is even working on losing a few pounds to get in shape. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys meeting people. He will do best in a home with older children or adults who are patient with him and he will need to have a fenced yard to keep him safe. He is trusted in the house, can make it through a normal workday, and is housetrained. He's neutered, vaccinated, and current on vet care. Odie would love nothing more than to find himself a forever home with people who will care for him permanently this time.

Success Story:   Brynn and Odie are such good dogs. When we got Brynn a year ago, she was a such a timid dog. She didn't know how to play with toys, her tail was always between her legs, and she would crouch and squint her eyes when she heard loud noises or when we came near her. Now, she LOVES to play. She plays all the time. It's like she finally gets to be the puppy that she never was able to be. She loves other dogs and she loves being around people.

When we got Odie, she became even happier. They get along really well. They play together almost every day (usually around after their post dinner walk! :) )

They are such wonderful, good dogs and have changed our lives. Bryan and I are so grateful to have these dogs in our life. They definitely are our children. We have become beagle lovers (even each of our cars have some sort of beagle magnet) and we are pretty sure that we will know be beagle owners for life.

Thank you for finding us two wonderful beagles. I only wish I lived on a farm and could take more in! ;) I'll continue to promote the beagle rescue through word of mouth and facebook. Thank you for everything you do. I can't even imagine our life without our beagles. They have brought more joy to our lives than we thought possible.
