Name:   Sweetie Hughes

Description:   5 yrs old ~ 25 lbs. ~ NOW ADOPTED
Sweetie is an absolute love bunny. She's the most perfect Beagle I've come across. She really enjoys walking, is very quiet, house trained (totally trustworthy with free run of the home), never chews what she's not supposed to, will sleep in a crate but prefers her own bed next to yours, she's gentle and the funniest little character. She begs and waves her front paws around, not on command, but to get your attention when you're eating. She is so darn cute, it's hard not to share supper with her. She just quietly sits up in the beg mode and waits with a smile on her face. Did I mention she smiles when she's happy-- like just before her dinner bowl is put down or its time for a walk she prances and smiles with excitement. She's tri-colored, small like a bench-leg beagle but she is a little fluffy and is now on a diet. Sweetie is a little timid in new surroundings or with new people, but a snack usually gets her over the hump quickly. She's very submissive around other dogs (she just wants everyone to like her), is great with cats, loves soft and squeeky toys and enjoys the heck out of chasing tennis balls. She's an absolute peach! (Can you tell her foster mom just loves her?) Sweetie's original owner died and the family dumped her at the shelter. She's fully vetted and has been spayed. Sweetie would be fine with kids, or a buddy for another dog. A fenced yard would be nice but not necessary as long as she gets lots of walks. Her next favorite thing to a good walk is laying belly up on the sofa. (Just didn't have the heart to tell her no). Not sure about a working family - 4 to 5 hours would probably be okay, but I don't think 8 to 10 hours would be good for her personality. She's a bright, happy little girl - prolonged crate time would take some of her sunshine away. :-( Adoptive Status: Spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm negative and micro-chipped.
