Name:   Ambrosia Hughes (now Abby)

Description:   5 yrs ~ 27 lb ~ Fostered in Catonsville, MD ~

Here are the observations of a volunteer who took her picture: She is a pretty girl with great coloring (Brown/Tan/GrayBrown)... she was belly to the ground most of the time; super cautious; didn't like the noises on BelAir Road. Her head was bobbing around and seemed curious. I think when she gets over her initial fear, she'll be good.

She didn't seem to have a fear of me - she climbed in my lap and kept very close to me the entire time I had her out. She was quiet.

Update: I just started fostering her today (11/05) and she loves to play and run. She's taken all the toys out of the toy box and chewed on every bone and hoof. She's tried to engage each of the resident dogs in play and when that didn't work, she ran rings around them in the yard.

The vet ok'd Ambrosia's heart - couldn't detect any arrhythmia, as we initially thought. So she is good to go.

Success Story:   Abby joined us in the winter of 2015 and instantly filled our home with her gentle but outgoing energy. It took her a few days to get used to the stairs, but she soon found herself following the family from room to room. She has been a great little sister to her beagle brother Josh, who we rescued several years ago. Josh is an older fellow, but the two play like puppies as they roll around and nibble on each other. We look forward to many years of Abby's friendly and playful personality.
