Our volunteer photographer pronounced him a "very sweet dog." He was interested in the toys she brought and it didn't matter if he was playing by himself or with her assistant. Toys RULE! Ranier loves to be petted and will remind you to keep it up, should you stop.

Most of the pictures of Rainier are of him sleeping, because that's the only time he sits still.

His foster parents are calling him Ralphie (and often "Wreck-It Ralph", as he likes to barrel through things!) because it's easier to say. He definitely looks to be a beagle/basset mix with those stumpy legs and wrinkled face. But don't let his looks and age deceive you - he can move really quickly and is always trying to fit his chunky behind under the fence! He gets along well with the resident dogs and enjoys sleeping close to at least one of them. He's learning his potty manners and walks pretty well on the leash. Overall he's a very sweet boy.
