~ 20 lb ~ 1 to 2 yrs old ~ fostered in Brooklyn, MD
Ladies and gentlemen, please meet Tuggy (Tuggs, Tugboat, Tuggybutt), the newest member of the BRSM "kennel club". He came to us on Saturday, November 23rd by way of an anonymous angel just in time for Thanksgiving after being left in the woods by a group of young men who were out hunting for the day. Needless to say, Tuggy only prefers to hunt for treats, snuggles, and plush toys; he is not a gentlemen's hunting hound. He has been staying with a foster-fail mom and her two BRSM alum-pups, Mosey (Twister/Oliver) and Sullivan. Tuggy immediately made himself at home, and he became fast friends with Mosey and Sullivan; unfortunately, the space he is in is limited and his current foster is unable to continue with long term care.
Tuggy weighs 20 pounds and stands 12" at the shoulder, 20" at the head. He has warm brown eyes and typical beagle ears - soft, attuned to the opening of cheese wrappers and treat bags, sometimes attentive to commands. He is estimated to be between 12 and 24 months old, and he is full of energy. Tuggy is crate comfortable, leash respectful, and he is learning the ways of being a good house pup; sometimes he forgets his training and has accidents, but with continued efforts he will be more consistent with outside potty efforts. Tuggy has also shown incredible patience while being groomed, he likes to have his ears cleaned and he'll "let" you grind his nails. While still young, Tuggy is also in a bit of a chewing stage and he is constantly curious, so a home with lots of toys and activities is highly recommended.
Additional veterinarian care will bring Tuggy up to date with shots and have him neutered; he is currently microchipped. Tuggy is also untested with kids and other pets (like cats, birds, ferrets, bunnies, etc.) but his gentle demeanor suggests he will be great with the smaller humans and other fur-babies. If you have an open-heart, open-mind, and an open spot on the bed, Tuggy is waiting for you.
