We bet we know what you're thinking! "Those dumb beagle people can't even spell Polly!" Well, the joke's on you! Her name is Poly because she has an extra toe on her back paws making her a polydactyl! Poly was born to Sally Gilroy in September and will be ready for adoption on November 16th-ish. She is one of three classic tri-color beagles in the litter. We have every reason to believe that Poly is all beagle, as Mama has only cavorted with beagles in her brief life. She's an absolute doll baby, but she'll give the unsuspecting adopter a run for their money. She is all wiggly happy puppy! She'll be curious about everything she sees. She'll have energy to spare after yours runs out. She'll be noisy. When bored, she'll eat your sofa - and puppies are not born potty trained. (Mama was kept outside. She couldn't teach what she never knew!) Your rugs will be soiled multiple times before she gets the hang of it - and her tiny bladder isn't big enough to be left alone in a crate all day - one, maybe two hours tops!
We don't mean to sound all doom and gloom, but it's important to know the reality of life with a puppy from the get-go. We want her first home to be her last. She's going to be a cuddly ton of fun eventually. Honestly, there's nothing like the smell of sweet puppy to make you forget about the chewed leg of your great-great-super-great grandmother's chair. If you're up for the challenge, please complete and submit our adopter profile located here: http://brsmbeagles.org/new_site/documents/BRSM_profile_secure.pdf and email the completed form to icanhelp@beaglemaryland.org.
We discourage placing dogs under 2 years old into apartments and condos. Your neighbors would thank us if they knew.
We'll look forward to following her future Instagram account as she grows and has adventures! Come on! You know you're going to make one!
