Name:   Sally Gilroy
Description:   ~ 1 yr ~ 19 lbs ~ Fostered in Ijamsville, MD ~

Our beautiful (seriously beautiful) Sally just can't catch a break. She's most likely less than a year old and through no fault of her own, has now been in 5 homes that we know of and will shortly head to her 6th. Upon BRSM intake, she was pregnant. She had a difficult labor ending in an emergency c-section, but gave birth to 6 puppies as beautiful as their mama. Due to some GI issues requiring medication that would be dangerous to the pups, they needed to be weaned before they would normally have lost interest and that was hard for poor Sally. She needed to move again as being in the same home as the puppies where she could smell and hear them was torturous.

Troubles aside, Sally has proven to be a good houseguest. She's calm indoors, but runs zoomies in the back yard and is usually up for a game of tug-o-war. She's a sweet, docile girl for one so young - and we can't wait to get her in a permanent home where she can finally relax and feel that she belongs. For now, she's a bit unsure of herself and skittish. She'll be a flight risk until she recognizes that not every unexpected noise or human is a threat. She's currently a work in progress regarding house training. She hasn't felt well for quite awhile (she's much better) and she's been distracted by her puppies. She's going to make someone a terrific pet, though. She'll need soft voices and gentle encouragement to settle in. She gets on well with other dogs - in fact, we'd prefer that she go to a home that has another playful, outgoing dog..
