Brandy is a gracious and elegant 5 year old lady. She is sweet and gets along with dogs as well as cats. We believe she will also like gentle children but she likes a quiet surrounding as she is the quiet type herself. She loves her plushy soft bed and really does not ask for much other than that. Brandy is a tall, long legged girl and weighs around 30lbs. This poor girl had to endure lots of hardship before entering our rescue. She found herself pregnant and Heartworm positive in a noisy and overcrowded shelter in rural Virginia with no interest or other rescue opportunities. When Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland was able to secure a foster home and transport for her she was already far along in her pregnancy.

Despite emergency surgery the day after she arrived, sadly none of the puppies survived and mom was not doing very well either. But she is now on the way to recovery and shows her foster mom every day how sweet and thankful she is for having a home. She does a perfect job with potty training and starts being more trusting. We started the antibiotics for her heartworm treatment and expect her to be ready for adoption with everything completed in a couple of months. If the right committed adopter comes along and is willing to take her to one of our vets for her heartworm treatment we are open to that option. Brandy is a lovely girl.
