We got an emergency sos to help a critically sick beagle pup found in a field, emaciated and not moving much. He was taken to the shelter where his immediate needs were assessed and he was taken to the vet. At the vet he was found to have parasites (worms) and was in need of a blood transfusion. About the time BRSM was to be called we were already knocking on the door. Grateful for the very attentive shelter staff and the care he received there. We stepped up without hesitation to take Tiny Tim into rescue. This evening he checked into an emergency hospital for further critical care, monitoring, and diagnostics and medical treatment.

Failed by humans this innocent and still trusting little pup weighs barely 6 pounds and a few ounces and is now fighting for his life. Today was hard, I usually run with the beagles at the shelter not hold their paw in the emergency hospital and tell them to hold on back ... He's a fighter, his eyes sparkle, he wants to eat and he wants to go home.
