Name:   Odie Hughes
Description:   ~ 33 lbs ~ 2 yrs old ~ fostered in Cockeysville, MD ~

Odie has legs, and he knows how to use them! This tall beagle boy’s legs weren’t always in such great shape. Doctors warned that, due to recent injuries from a bullet, he may indeed lose his front leg. Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland wasn’t about to let that happen. Thanks to generous donations from our beagle loving public, we got Odie the surgery he needed to heal his leg bone and regain full use of his glamorous gams.

Odie is a youngster at two years old, with a delightfully expressive hound dog face and bright amber eyes. He uses his good looks to full advantage to cage ear rubs and treats from his foster family. He is a lovable lunk, active and very friendly. Odie has adored everyone he has met, and has gotten along great with other dogs, too. He is certainly a party beagle! Odie does NOT get along with cats. He loves little kids, however they are likely to be scattered like bowling pins around him, so a home with older kids or adults is best. He’s a love muffin who doesn’t know his own strength. With some obedience training, he will be a wonderful companion.

Odie is recovering from a long stretch of crate rest to save his leg, and can’t wait to get a move on. If you think this active youngster with the big beagle voice is the love you have been waiting for, shake a leg and send us a message.

Odie's youth and energy will not lend themselves well to shared walls, so applications from those living in condos and apartments will not be considered.
