Name:   Snickerdoodle Martin (now Sandy)
Description:   ~ 3 yrs old ~ 29 lbs ~ Fostered in University Park, MD ~

Don't let the bad photography fool you. Snickerdoodle is a cute little chubby girl. The best word to describe her personality is joyous. She is never in a bad mood. At times her joy knows no bounds, such as when she hears the kibble rattling in the bowl --- she comes running, leaps in the air, and tries to grab the bowl out of my hand. Very playful and exuberant. She likes people and other dogs. She completely ignores the cat.

She is not yet housebroken. I'm trying to figure out when she poops, so I can have her outside at those times. This is the 3rd successful day with neither pooping nor peeing in the house though.

She is crate-trained, but not leash trained. She is wild about squirrels. Before we go in the back yard, I have to check for squirrels. She goes wild if she sees one. If we're out walking, she almost pulls me down on the ground. I will pull her down the path, but she keeps looking backward to see if the squirrel is still there.

She is not barky, but she is at the chewing stage. She has chew toys, but prefers these other things. She is oh-so-repentant when scolded: grovels on the floor, whines, rolls on her back. However, this does not mean she won't repeat the same behavior when she has a chance.

The vet liked the way he could pick her up and hold her in various positions with no complaint. Easy to hug. He also thinks she's beautiful.
