Name:   Macy Raven
Description:   ~ 2 years old ~ 20 lbs ~ fostered in Baltimore, MD ~

Macy is very puppy-like: When she's excited, she curls her tiny body and then jumps! Not good puppy behaviors: She likes to jump on people and dig her paws deep into whatever she jumps on; she nips often and sometimes will chew on your fingers or clothing when she's in your lap. (won't be good around little kids). She spent an entire Sunday (the day I picked her up) with Sean in her presence, but the next weekend, she shut down when he arrived. She had to be picked up to be taken outside, or encouraged with treats, but kept a wary eye on Sean (foster dad) and would run far around him to get where she was going; sometimes choosing not to go anywhere at all. This past weekend, she allowed him to scratch her head, but she still kept her eye on him. She loves to be held. You don't necessarily need to pet her, but she just wants to lay in your lap and sleep or watch what's going on around the house. She loves meal times. She growls and play bows to the bag of food; she will bark ever so fiercely at her food bowl while I'm waiting for her to sit before I put it down. She and Johnny Depp (dog) have played a lot (yeah, trying to keep her quiet, but those two!). They chase each other around the yard. Lucy (dog) is warming up to her and even engaged in the chasing game once or twice.

Macy thinks that all the dogs and people should just love her. She has no boundaries and frequently flops herself onto the other dogs - usually while waiting for a meal or a treat. So far, she's lucky: Foster dog siblings, Johnny Depp and Cassie tolerate that behavior just fine. Lucy will growl at her if she gets too rambunctious.

Every week a little more of her emerges. I've been working with her on "off", "sit", and "stay". She's getting really great at "sit", and there are snippets of brilliance with the "off" (useful when you want her off your leg from the jumping - which she can easily do 20 times in a row - that's the highest count so far). She's tenacious. If she wants something, she's determined to get it. I caught her standing on the tips of her tiny back paws, reaching up to the dining room table with a front paw, pushing a bowl to the edge to knock off (food in that bowl). She almost had it when I caught her. LOL

My inexpert opinion is: she's a beagle/jack russell. If she's paying attention to Lucy and Johnny, there will be more dead squirrels in my yard soon. LOL (I'll try to keep her quiet, I swear. I think she needs to be leashed in the yard, until the vet gives the go ahead to let her be crazy).
